Seven militants killed in two separate encounters in Kashmir
Srinagar:Seven militants were killed in two different encounters with the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Gurez sector and Kupwara sector on Monday. Four militants were killed
during an operation in Gurez sector by the security forces. According to a defence
spokesman, three militants were killed in a gunbattle that took place earlier
in the day in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara District. Last evening, the Army launched
a combing operation in Afroda forest in Handwara, Lt Col J S Brar said. Brar also
said during the operation, militants fired at security forces who retaliated triggering
a gunbattle in which three militants were killed.
